Guitar

Guitar, so good, so far, so bad, so what, I'm not a nut, I'm just
Guitar has gone too far, has gone away, forgot to say goodbye

What would I do if I didn't have shoulders
And what would I do if I didn't have skin?
I'd laugh in the summer and cry in the evening
And once in a while I would

Guitar is in the car, is in the trunk, I'm in a funk, I hate
Guitar make me a star, make me a sun, the only one besides

What would I do if I didn't have knuckles
And what would I do now if I had no chin?
I'd laugh in the winter and cry in the morning
And once in a while I would

Make a record of what you want
Cross it off one by one
Make a record of what you got
Better write in pencil

What would I do?

I would be another man
I would make another plan
I would build a new canal connecting Oregon and Tennessee

And I've got a lovely vest
That I'm getting off my chest
Now it's time I took a rest for a while

One by one and two by four
I don't need them any more
Now I'm closing down the store for a while
